Last updated: 2 November 2026
Dromore Community Initiatives Community Interest Company (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are.
Who is responsible for your information
Dromore Community Initiatives CIC, Dromore, County Down, Northern Ireland, is the controller of the personal information collected through this website. Contact us at info@dromorecommunity.org.uk.
What we collect
- Men's Shed registration form: name, email, optional telephone number, the ways you'd like to get involved, any message, and whether you want project updates.
- Contact and Get Involved forms: name, email, optional telephone number, subject and message, and your areas of interest.
- Repair Café enquiry form: name, email, optional telephone number, details of the item and problem, and an optional photo you upload.
- Security information: to prevent spam we store a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, which can't be used to identify you directly, alongside each submission.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and, where you ask, to involve you in our projects. Basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in running our community projects.
- To send occasional Men's Shed project updates, only if you tick the separate updates box. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam. Basis: legitimate interests.
Who sees your information
Submissions are only visible to authorised members of the Dromore Community Initiatives team through a password-protected area. We never publish names, email addresses or telephone numbers, and we don't sell or share your information for marketing.
We use trusted providers to run the website: Supabase (database and file storage) and Vercel (website hosting). If email notifications are switched on, Resend is also used to alert our team to new messages.
How long we keep it
We keep Men's Shed registrations until the project's membership arrangements are in place or you ask us to delete them, and we review them at least once a year. Contact messages and Repair Café enquiries are deleted after 12 months unless we need to keep them longer.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
